Walking on Lahinch Beach

I took this photograph (August 2011) while I was walking back towards the town of Lahinch.
I happened to have my camera with me. I just thought that the scene before me was lovely. I had to capture it!

From Shanagolden I come!

This is my blog - and I hope to make it informative and interesting to you, my welcome visitor.

I am Patrick Moloney, born in Shanagolden, Co. Limerick, Ireland. I spent my early childhooh there, and my memories of the place - and of the people who lived in the village at that time are as fresh as ever.

I particularly cherish my time with the St. Senan's GAA Football Club. During 1957 to 1959 I played, first with the under-14 team and later, with the under 16s. We had the honour of getting to the West Limerick u14 football final in 1958 but were beaten by  St. Mary's of Abbeyfeale.
The final score was 1goal to nil.
The weather on the day was atrocious. The thick leather football was as heavy as lead and it was an achievement to kick it just a few yards ahead of you - if you got the opportunity to do so.

But the people who looked after us were great. I always think fondly of them and wish them well wherever they now are.
